I didn't add any quad rails because they suck for hunting IMHO.

If I remember, I'll get a weight on my APEX Machining 12.65" hand guard when I go to check out my gas block.  The rifle isn't cycling the action since I installed it, so I'm betting I installed it incorrectly.  The clamping rings and everything need to come off to do the job, so that would be an opportune time to weigh it.

Well, my scale is MIA, so the best I can do is quote the APEX sight.  The 12.625" hand guard is 10.4 oz.

The other hand guards they have to offer, and their weights (as claimed) are listed here:  http://www.apexhandguard.com/308-handguards/

The latest trend in aluminum hand guards is using a slim 1.35 inch diameter steel or aluminum barrel nuts. They are interchangeable but the aluminum weighs less than an ounce and the steel over 1.5 ounces.

My favorite 15 inch is the Guntec (Made in the USA) the hand guard weighs 7.15 ounces. I use the eBay thinner aluminum barrel nut and replace the steel screws (8 for a total of 0.41 ounces) with titanium M5 button head screws that weigh about .2 ounces.

So the hand guard complete weighs 8.8 ounces which is pretty close to the $340 2A and V Seven, and Bravo 15 inch hand guards.

But I wanted to use the 15 inch Guntec on my 22 inch 22 Nosler upper.

So I went to eBay to get a 10 inch small diameter hand guard. The hand guard tube  6.40 ounces, I cut back the barrel nut so it now weighs .759 ounces, so total weight is now 7.49 ounces.
