I thought i would try my hand at a 308 build. I have built many AR15's  so i thought it would be a fun change.

I decided to do my first 80% lower as part of the build. I purchased an Ares billet lower and their jig.

After finishing the lower I decided to try my hand at cerekoting and went with magpul FDE

Now that i had the cerekote on and it turned out pretty good it was time to assemble my list of parts

Bhw 18" 11 twist poly barrel
midwest industries hand guard -- cerekoted FDE
dpms lower parts kit
ergo grip
rifle buffer tube,spring and buffer
Luth-ar stock
dpms upper
ares 80% lower

Now i need to choose an optic and get to the range for the break in.

I think the build turned out great and i learned a lot in the process.

It shot good for break in here is one of the ladders  i was adjusting the scope but the 42.5 load looks to be the winner. going to load 20 of them up and do 4 - 5 shot groups to see if it works out

I just finished my own LR308 build.  I did mine from an 80% receiver as well. I'm no master machinist yet
so their are some chatter marks. My next one will be cherry though. I'll have to post some pics when my new
butt stock arrives.
