I am looking for a mid weight suppressor for my 6.5 and there are SOOOO many choices that it's over kill! I like hog and coyote hunting. My first choice was a SRD762 QD by Sig. Not out just yet, so my other choice was a Grifin Ornament sportsman TM. No mag dumps, rapid fire different story. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have recently received a harvester and an omega. To me the harvester sounds a little more quiet but there is a rapid fire warning. The omega seems to the a good balance of size/weight and can handle the heat when needed.

I only use direct thread on each and am happy with the omega.

I'll bet you would be hard-pressed to tell the difference in sound between any of the offerings from the top producers, so really I think you should look for other criteria such as size weight attachment mechanism etc. Figure out what is most important to you.

Thanks at Wildfowler! Weight is definitely a great factor being I do walk a mile too a 1/2 mile easily. The omega is something too look at.

I walk all the time with a heavy DPMS 308 and a shooting tripod. A few extra ounces is not going to be thst much of a burden, however the omega at 14 ounces doesn't throw off the balance too bad.

I use a traditional rifle sling by butler creek. The package said it reduce felt weight of the rifle in half (or something to that effect) and it does a good job for me.

i would personally like to keep the weight of the suppressor below a pound and a half going forward.

I'd definitely recommend the specwar... It's a little long but quieter than just about anything I've had my hands on. And it's the most quiet on a variety of platforms not just one specific.
