Finished up this rifle early spring and was only able to take it out for a quick coyote call back then. No coyotes came so it spend the summer doing load development. I originally was running 60gr varminters in front of 25.5gr of h4895. I recently tried some 70gr Nosler Ballistic tips with the same load. This rifle really likes them. Jagged hole at 100 yards easy.
Anyway, took this little guy this morning. 2nd stand and I was just getting ready to leave. In fact I had already stood up. Saw this guy dart between sand hills around 50 yards away. Whistled and he popped up. Shot was standing and I was off balance. Entered through the right rear. Took a follow up shot and he was pretty much DRT.
I called it a day since my son still needs to get his first with his 6mm Fat Rat. Didnt want to totally blow the place.
