Do any of you have a 6.5 Creedmoor and run a suppressor? Buddy took the new Creedmoor out, ran it with the gas block open as it cycles fine without the suppressor. First round wit the suppressor it sheared off the bolt catch on bounce back, didn't close down any gas. Then he replaced the broken bolt catch, turned down the SLR gas block so it was only open to the 3rd click and it cycled fine for 2 rounds wit the suppressor. Then he ran 7 rounds and it got stuck closed, case swell or something but wouldn't extract. He finally got it open after and hour of pulling and tugging, he is frustrated...I am wondering if it got hot after 7 rounds causing it to jam.

So when running suppressed, any tips? Do you need to use hand loads not as hot as factory ammo? Possible heating up making the case stick into the chamber??

Any pointers will be good.

Thanks

Hmmmm, that really sounds like it was first overgassed, and now perhaps a sticky chamber?  What barrel is he running and how clean is the chamber?

Another hmmm.  I don't have a AR 6.5 Creedmoor yet - just a 260 Rem and 243 Win on the LMT MWS platform. Both run fine suppressed and unsuppressed with the factory gas block (which I'm told is intentionally over-gassed for military reliability). I would check his ammo in addition to Bumpin' Yota suggestion of the chamber. This week a friend sent me photos of his factory ammo chambered and removed from a factory barrel that didn't have the throat completely reamed.
